  • On the 10 - 13 January 2012, an SRD project team travelled to Bac Kan province to meet with farmers and local authorities for initial research to review stakeholders' perspectives on SRI application, on relevant factors relating to the application and expansion of the method.

     

  • In the opening of the workshp, Ms. Le Thi Phuong Thao from Finland Embassy said, "We highly appreciate the efforts of SRD uin developing and managing such a successful  project. This is the highest amount of funding we have ever granted to a local support project, and the most successful project as well."

     

  • On December 5, 2011, a feedback workshop was held for the  the "Capacity Building on Climate Change for Civil Society Organizations" project, funded by the Embassy of Finland. This workshop was an opportuntiy to received comments and feedback from stakeholders, for consideration and sumbission in the  final evaluation report.

  • The Prime Minister has officially announced Decision 2139/QĐ-TTgapproving the National Strategic Plan on Climate Change. The Decision states that climate change is one of the most serious challenges for humans, causing negative impacts on lives and livelihoods. Being one of the most vulnerable countries, Vietnam regards climate change as an urgent issue and key challenge in the upcoming time.  

     

  • On 11 December 2011, representatives of 194 countries participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa approved a new pathway for the fight against climate change in the coming decade.
