    Mr Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen, beneficiary of SRD's project Supporting Peole with Disabilities in Thua Thien-Hue province, has made great progess in recovering his ability to walk after a stroke four years ago. SRD staff members met with and were delighted to see how positive he is about his recovery.

  • A man with disability: “Now I have developed new knowledge and skills, I’m not worried any more”

    Thua Thien Hue province has the highest average rainfall of the country particularly in the two peak months of October and November when rainfall sometimes reaches 50% of the annual total. Phong Binh and Phong Hien communes in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue, which are situated in low-land areas, often suffer from severe floods in the stormy season. Local people used to have to sell pigs before the beginning of the stormy season which resulted in a considerable reduction in their families' income.

  • Village leader models conservation of medicinal plants

    Mr Cat is the leader of one of the villages in involved in SRD's "Development and Conservation of Traditional Remedies and Indigenous Medicinal Plants" project in Yen Bai, and has been leading the way in his village with his herbal garden and use of traditional remedies.

  • I wish interest group had been established earlier

    SRD's "Participatory Land Use and Planning" project established a Pig Breeders interest group, where local people were able to attend animal husbandry training courses to deepen knowledge, and share skills and experiences with other villagers.
