A workshop to evaluate and assess the need for Phase 2 of the project "Capacity Building on Climate Change for Civil Society Organizations"" funded by Finland Embassy was held in Hanoi on 16 and 17 December 2011. Appoximately  80 participants attended the workshop, with representatives from agencies such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Union of Science and Technology Association of Kien Giang and Dong Thap Province, International donors such as the  Finland Embassy, the US Embassy and AusAid, theproject Steering Committee, resource trainers, project benificiaries and other CSOs in Veitnam. is the workshop provided an opportunity for participants to share and discussthe project outcomes, and to reflect on ideas for the second phase of the project.

In the opening of the workshp, Ms. Le Thi Phuong Thao from Finland Embassy said, "We highly appreciate the efforts of SRD uin developing and managing such a successful  project. This is the highest amount of funding we have ever granted to a local support project, and the most successful project as well."

In the second day of the workshop Participants were divided into groups to discuss the need of the second phase of the project and give recommendations on advocacy and models of climate change adaptation and mitigation in the community. All recommendations were noted in the Needs Assessment report in preparation for the second phase of the project and submit to donors.
