During a field monitoring mission in Ca Mau Province, a delegation from the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD), led by Executive Director Ms Vu Thi Bich Hop, held a technical meeting with the Board of Directors and staff of Mui Ca Mau National Park.

In addition to inspecting field sites and evaluating the progress of the project “Strengthened climate resilience and sustainable income generation for mangrove forest-dependent vulnerable communities” (VM077), SRD and the National Park officially signed a Partnership Agreement to implement the assisted natural regeneration (ANR) of 120 hectares of mangrove forests within the park’s boundaries.

Before the signing ceremony, both parties conducted comprehensive field surveys to assess the current forest status and identify suitable zones for regeneration. This preparatory phase was critical to ensuring that forest restoration activities are executed according to technical protocols, ensuring long-term efficiency and sustainability.

During the working session, Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hop, Director of SRD, and Mr. Ly Minh Kha, Deputy Director of Mui Ca Mau National Park, formally signed the agreement to implement the 120-hectare mangrove regeneration initiative for the 2025–2026 period, under the framework of Project VM077.

This signing ceremony serves not only as a legal foundation for closer institutional cooperation but also represents a significant milestone in the mission to restore the mangrove ecosystem at Mui Ca Mau National Park.

The mission and the subsequent agreement mark a meaningful turning point, reaffirming SRD’s steadfast commitment to partnering with local authorities to protect mangrove forests, enhance climate resilience, and contribute to the development of sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities.
