On June 6-8, 2020, the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) organized first aid on the spot training for 100 members from people woth disabilities club in seven out of nine projects communes, including Trung Son, Trung Hai, Gio Hai, Gio My, Gio Linh, Phong Binh and Gio Chau town.
The training focuses on sharing basic principles on first aid, first aid for bleeding and soft-tissue wounds, bandaging for wounds, first aid for fractures, skills of safely transporting patients, first aid for electric shock, first aid for drowning.
“First aid is a useful activity that helps people know how to do initial intervention when there is an accident prior to professional medical help being available. I look forward to the advanced training”- Mr. T.H.Th - Member of PwD club in Trung Son commune.
“After a day of learning, I can understand the procedures for wound treatment, bandages, and types of fractures. Through this training course, I can practice more to apply in case of need. ”- Ms. T.T.H - member of Gio Hai Commune People with Disabilities Club shared.
“I know what to do initially if I there is an accident. Joining the training course like this to protect the health myself, my family and neighbors. It is worth stopping all the work to join the training. ”- Ms. H.T.K.L - Member of Gio Chau Commune’s PwD Club shared excitedly.
This activity was implemented within the framework of the project "Empowering People with Disabilities" funded by Caritas Australia and DFAT in 9 communes of Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province from 2019-2022.
