Between 25 and 26 November 2022, within the framework of EU aid Volunteers, the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development organised the Workshop "Sustainable coffee development-The case study in Thuan Chau district, Son La province"
There were 29 participants attending the workshop, including representatives from the state management agency in charge of forest development, and representatives from coffee production enterprises in Son La province. Moreover, the workshop also welcomed a number of coffee researchers to participate.
The workshop's major objective is to present the research results and receive comments from the participants to improve the research results. At the workshop, participants heard the research team present about production coffee expansion and its correlation with land use change at the locality. Furthermore, the research team also reported the status of access to financial services of coffee growers and financial metrics for agroforestry models based on coffee, and finally measures to promote sustainable coffee production development.
Through the workshop, the research team has received many comments from researchers, businesses, and managers. It is very vital to have contributions from the participants, which help the research team not only improve the quality of the research, but also make feasible recommendations to be able to apply in practice in coffee production in Son La province.
