After a working and cooperative process, the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) and the Quang Nam Agricultural Extension Center decided to establish a strategic partnership. To share knowledge about financial management of the project, on 21st June, 2018 in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province, these two organizations jointly organized a workshop to share on relevant regulations, policies and process.
Attending the workshop were staff working on finance and planning departments, and management staff of the Quang Nam Agricultural Extension Center, who were and will be directly involved in the implementation of the "Improving the livelihoods for the poor people in Phu Ninh District, Quang Nam province through medicinal plants and market development " project.
At the workshop, Mrs. Nguyen Kim Ngan, SRD's Director introduced briefly about the SRD's history, vision and mission as well as the projects that SRD has been implementing at different localities. Ms. Ngan also shared with the participants the knowledge related to two important aspects of financial management: (i) management and use of foreign funding for NGOs, and (ii) financial regime and procedures for project partners-VM057. Participants in the workshop also listened to and questioned issues related to auditing and project finalization as well as the legal basis for setting the project's operational norms. The issues discussed by the representative were clearly explained by Nguyen Kim Ngan.
After the seminar, Mr. Vo Van Nghi - Director of the Quang Nam Agricultural Extension Center and Ms. Nguyen Kim Ngan - SRD Director also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement is an important basis for both parties to strengthen the effectiveness of cooperation towards the successful implementation of the project.
