Following the Press Release on December 2nd by the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung , the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the President of the European Union Donald Tusk will complete the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) negotiations by the end of 2016. The VNGO-FLEGT network, together with FERN and EIA, have drafted a joint letter which confirms the role of civil society organizations (CSO) in the process of the VPA negotiations, as well as the necessity of the CSO in the independent monitoring in the agreement implementation.
