Overview of media activities

“In the spirit of being relaxed and meeting many people who are in the same situation, I am delight to be able to attend this event. The lives of people living in coastal areas have been difficult, but much more difficult for those with disabilities including myself . Thanks to the project for having this meaningful activity.” – Mr. Tran Văn Khiem in Gio Quang commune shared emotionally.

Game "Put the ball in the basket"

Mr. Mai Quang Ban in Phong Binh commune confided: “I often compose poems and share with the project, and I also participate in community-based class for poor and children with disabilities (CwD) who are not able to go to school. Today, I have learned more useful first aid skills for drowning and played active games. Hopefully in the coming time, the project will have more training sections on drowning prevention skills, especially “Independent living skills” for the older people with disabilities. That is also what I expect because myself and my wife are the old with disabilities”.

Game "Blindfold Duck Catching"

“I am a PwD’s caregiver, but when attending this activity, I realize that everyone is equal. I had fun and talked to many PWD, I felt that they are among ourselves. Some people might think that PWDs belong to a different group in the society, but I do not. My husband is also a PWD, so when I was informed of this, I decided to join immediately since I would share with my husband about what I would have learned and experienced.” – Mrs. Pham Thi Huong from Gio Hai commune shared.

Officials of the Provincial Red Cross Association instructed first aid for Drowning

Mr. Tran Dinh Duong, Vice Chairman of Gio Hai Commune People’s Committee affirmed: “Celebrating the day for PwD which is rewarding, provides a playground for PWD to access relevant policies which would enable them to be capable and self-reliant in life. This is also a meeting for all to exchange, for potential benefactors to consider support mentally and materially. Most of the PWD are in the poor households, so this is also a good opportunity for them to participate in social activities. This type of communication activities should be replicated so that more and more people would be able to understand more about the PWD.
