From 25-27 November 2020, the Women and Climate Change workshop was held in Hanoi. The workshop is part of the project Strengthen Human Rights and Gender Equality through Climate Change Action and Disaster Risk Reduction or Women and Climate Change for short, funded by the Swedish government through the regional project EmPower. The program was attended by representatives from agencies and NGOs inside and outside VNGO-CC.
On 25 November, Mrs Vu Thi Bich Hop - Director of SRD cum President of VNGO-CC delivered the opening remark at the workshop opening ceremony.

Representatives of SRD participated in discussions on developing an action plan for 2021 of “Network of Women Pioneering Climate Change Adaptation”. The Network includes researchers, scientists, managers, leaders of organizations and individuals interested in promoting gender equality in climate change adaptation with the aim to exchange knowledge, share experiences and practices on gender mainstreaming in climate change and disaster risk reduction programs.

SRD, CECR and core organizations of the Network will connect and collaborate when UNWomen Vietnam integrates activities that promote and support Vietnamese women empowerment into climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture, water and waste.
